Tracking roadside inspections

Every roadside inspection feeds a carrier's safety record. Logging each one, clean or not, shows patterns and catches errors to dispute.

Roadside inspections are recorded in FMCSA's systems and affect a carrier's safety measurement scores. Clean inspections help; violations hurt for up to two years.

Log each inspection

  • Date, state and inspection level.
  • Driver and unit.
  • Violations, if any, and whether anything was placed out of service.
  • The report number.

Fix and dispute

Repair violations right away and keep the receipt. If a report has an error, it can be challenged through FMCSA's DataQs system.

Our inspection log shows clean rates and repeat violations.
