Keeping a decision log

Months later, no one remembers why a price was set or a vendor was chosen. A short log of each decision and the reason saves repeating the same debate.

A decision log is a running list of the important choices you make in the business.

For each decision

  • The date and the decision.
  • Why: the facts and the reasons at the time.
  • Who decided.
  • When to look at it again.

Review it

On the review date, check whether it worked. Keep it, change it, or reverse it, and log that too.

Our decision log keeps the list and reminds you when to review.
