Most moving stress comes from things remembered too late.

A month out

  • Give written notice to your landlord as the lease requires.
  • Book movers or a truck.
  • Start using up food and donating what you do not need.

Two weeks out

  • Schedule utilities to stop and start.
  • Change your address with the post office, banks and employer.
  • Arrange school records for the kids.

Move week

  • Clean and photograph the old place, and return keys.
  • Give your forwarding address in writing for the deposit.
  • Do a move-in walkthrough with photos at the new place.

Our moving checklist keeps track.
